About Dr. Gus Gialamas
Dr. Gus Gialamas is one of the founders of Sea View Orthopaedics and has been practicing sports medicine and general orthopedic surgery in San Clemente for over 20 years. He is well known and respected within the San Clemente and surrounding community for his expertise and dedication to patient care. Throughout his career, Dr. Gialamas has gained extensive experience performing and teaching arthroscopic procedures, including rotator cuff and labral repair, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, meniscal repair, and microfracture. Additionally, he has considerable expertise in hip and knee replacement surgery and fracture treatment.
He earned his Bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University and his Medical Doctorate from The University of Health Science-Chicago Medical School. Dr. Gialamas then completed a research fellowship at the Harrington Arthritis Research Center in Phoenix, Arizona, followed by a core general surgical internship at the University of California, San Francisco. He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery there in 1992. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.
After completing his training, Dr. Gialamas moved to San Clemente, where he co-founded Sea View Orthopaedics. He served as Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery, Chief of Surgery, and Chief of Staff at Saddleback Memorial San Clemente Hospital. He was also on the active staff at Mission Hospital and Children's Hospital in Mission Viejo, California.
Dr. Gialamas dedicates much of his free time to serving the San Clemente community and others around the globe. He is a member of the Board of Operation Rainbow, a non-profit organization dedicated to performing free orthopedic surgeries for indigent children in developing countries worldwide who do not have access to necessary medical procedures or equipment. He is also a founding member of the Board of Directors for the American Freestyle Motocross Association. In addition, Dr. Gialamas served as a team physician for Saddleback College and San Clemente High School and is a board member for the San Clemente Boys and Girls Club. Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Gialamas enjoys spending time with his family whenever possible.
